My name is Joe Lyons and I am campaigning to represent you and serve our community as a member of the Claremont City Council. My life partner, Sharyn Webb, and I moved to Claremont nine years ago because of the quality of life in Claremont.
My recently concluded career as a research scientist at the City of Hope utilized my ability to understand how complex and dynamic systems operate. This is a skill that I will use in conducting our City's business and implementing our City's General Plan.
I currently serve on the boards of a number of community organizations, including the Pomona Valley Alliance on Mental Illness, and I am a delegate to the Tri-City Mental Health Services Act Planning Process. Through these activities, I have come to know and experience firsthand the spirit of generosity and genuine concern that is a core characteristic of Claremont and a resource that sustains our community.
As a Claremont resident I take pride in our city's history of participatory governance that led to the Claremont Sustainability City Plan and the framework of city involvement in its implementation.
I want to help make that vision become a reality in a way that keeps our commitment to public safety, family values, fiscal responsibility and managed growth.
Claremont is a special place and I want to help keep it that way!
Given my unwavering commitment to participatory governance, the most important responsibility of a council member is to listen to residents and make the best informed decisions possible for them and the future of Claremont.
I look forward to hearing from you as I ask you for your support!
Respectfully,
Joe Lyons, Candidate for Claremont City Council
